Auditorium

The auditorium consists of comfortable raked cinema-style seating with ample leg-room and aisles on each side.  There are 400 seats in total comprising14 rows, beginning in A row (closest to the stage) and ending in N row (at the back of the auditorium).   There are on average 30 seats per row. There is no difference in price for any of the seats as sightlines and clarity of sound are equally good throughout.

The use of cellphones and video/audio recording equipment is strictly prohibited in the auditorium, in addition to eating and drinking (other than sweets bought in the venue, and bottled water).  There is an age restriction of no children under three allowed, and all other children must have a ticket (no sitting on parent's laps please).

Wellington Tavern

Deck_3

The Wellington Tavern is the local watering hole for patrons of the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre and hosts commemorative opening night cocktail parties for productions playing at the EST, as well as celebratory get-togethers of cast and crew after the show.

The Wellington Tavern boasts an inviting balcony nestled among giant indigenous trees,  providing the perfect venue for a cool sundowner on Durban's hot and humid evenings. The bar opens an hour before show-time and stays open as long as the crowd lingers! It stocks anything from beers and ciders to white and red wines and hard liquors. For those with a thirst of a different sort, the EST Coffee Shop, to the right of the theatre box-office, is yet another relaxing venue.

Coffee Shop

The EST's coffee shop is the ideal place to unwind after a long day at work and before the evening's entertainment. Mental resuscitation comes in the form of freshly percolated coffee, tea, and a selection of juices, cooldrinks and cakes.

This quaint but welcome facility has walls covered in posters of EST productions past and present, and offers a trip down the theatres' memory lane.
