Fire destroys McIlroy home

Bloopers_websiteDear Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre patrons

For those of you who do not yet know, a fire (suspected electrical fault) destroyed the house of well-known Durban theatre personalities Aaron and Lisa McIlroy, in the early hours of Saturday morning (6 July).  Aaron and Lisa were away at the time, performing at the Makhanda (Grahamstown) Festival, and a family friend was house-sitting, together with one of the McIlroy children and a friend. Mercifully nobody was injured, but most of the house and belongings were destroyed.

Aaron and Lisa have a long association with the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, with Aaron performing on the Sneddon stage since his drama student days in the late 1980's.  Showing the resilience, spirit and courage that they are both known for, Aaron and Lisa will still be presenting their show "Bloopers" from Tuesday 16 July at the Sneddon.

We are sending this newsletter to implore you to book for "Bloopers", and show your support for this couple, who have brought you so many laughs over the years and continue to do so in the face of adversity.
