Dance Showcase

Pupils from the Karen Drake Dance Studio feature in a showcase of their work and talent. This is a wonderful and entertaining dance show for the whole family, with a cast ranging from tiny tots to teenagers.

A tribute to all things feminine, some of the numbers to be performed include Diamonds Are a Girls Best Friend, Vouge, Lady Soul, Thank Heavens for Little Girls, Aint She Sweet, Uptown Girl, Georgi Girls, Hair Spray, Mama Mia and much more.  Karen encourages her girls to diversify and experience all forms of dance. The show will thus cover all spectrums of dance - Ballet, Latin American (The Samba), Modern Dance, Gumboot Dancing, Tap, Contempory, & Hip Hop.

Guest Teacher Magesh Nglobo from the FlatFoot Dance Company and Tremendous Productions has taken the girls through the paces of African gumboot dancing.  They will be accompanied by Woodpecker Percussionists Mandla Matsha and his team of Drummers.  Magesh Nglobo and Kitsona Khumalo from the Flat Foot  Dance Company will dance in an African Contempory piece.

The dancers, ranging from four years old to eighteen years old, have embraced the challenge and have made this a spectacular show not to be missed!
