3 - 19 July 2009 Family Musical
This winter the Rainbow Young Performer's Project brings the city an award winning musical for the whole family. The show tells the story of how Huckleberry Finn (played by Sam Pennington) travels down the Mississippi river on a raft with his friend Jim, a runaway slave (played by Bandile Hlophe).
Along the way they encounter a couple of con men in the form of the King (played by Delwin van Jaarsveld ) and the Duke (played alternatively by John Didlick & Themi Venturas), who take them on a “bit of a ride!”. It’s a tale of fun, laughter and intrigue woven together with a great toe-tapping song list. Winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, this is a great way to enjoy the July holidays.
Performances are daily from Tues to Saturday at 7.30pm with Matinees at 2.30 on a Wednesday and Saturday and a 6pm show on Sundays. Ticket prices are R85 throughout except for the matinees at which a family discount price of R65 throughout will be charged. Here’s a show, based on the famous Mark Twain story that the whole family across the full spectrum of ages can enjoy.
